Easter is coming and for our table, I really want to have an Easter Egg Centerpiece. And, I found a few that I really liked, however, I did not like the price tag.
And in my true DIY personality I decided that I could make one myself for just a couple of bucks! In fact, with just a few supplies from the local Dollar Tree, I was able to create a topiary Easter Egg tree myself for a fraction of the price.
Take a look at this beautiful inspiration Egg Tree.
I absolutely love the look of this tree, It has all the right pastel colors and ribbon. Plus a little glitter never hurt anyone! Perfect for a table centerpiece or decor!!
But, there’s just one problem. It is $120 on Amazon. Don’t get me wrong, I love Amazon, and I’m a prime member. I buy just about everything from there. Well, not everything, but I am pretty sure I am close to it!
I even buy supplies for my online business through Amazon!
But when it comes to Seasonal decor and living, I just can’t do $120 for one centerpiece. We didn’t even spend that per centerpiece on our wedding! Even if I was a millionaire, I still wouldn’t.
Annnnnd, I love a good DIY for less than a fraction of the money, so I am sharing with you today, how you can get the look for way less.
Here’s my complete Dollar Tree Easter Egg Tree!
I know it is not exactly like my inspiration, but I love the way it turned out!!! And I maybe I had $5 in this piece. You can totally do the same for your table.
Getting Started
To get started you will want to get all of your items from the dollar store.
You will need a few bags of foam colored and glittered and painted eggs. My dollar store had several different kinds of egg. I bought a few packages and mixed it up.
If you look closely, you will some eggs have more a design and others do not. Just a preference.
I also purchase a styrofoam cone and some Easter grass, crinkle paper style. I liked this style grass better than regular Easter grass that is slick or shiny.
You could totally use the other kind, but for this project, I recommend the crinkly kind because you will use it to fill the bare spots between your eggs. This grass just seems to work great when gluing it into place.
You will also need a glue gun and lots of glue sticks. These can also be purchased at the Dollar Tree.
Gluing on the Eggs
Once your glue gun is warmed up and ready to go, you will want to make sure you have everything laid out so that it is easy to grab and add eggs and grass as you go.Â
Next, begin gluing the eggs in place. You will want to hold each egg in place before moving on to the next egg, so that the prior egg doesn’t begin to fall. The small amount of weight is heavy enough to cause this, so just be patient a few more seconds and let the glue dry.

Trust me you will be glad you did. It also helps make the entire piece more secure as you build up the tree.
Once you get a few eggs in place, add some of the crinkle Easter grass to fill any holes or spots where you notice or see the cone coming through.
I let some of the Easter grass sprigs also stick out a bit to give it a bit of character.
Once you get to the top, build the eggs up towards alternating in between eggs. Each row will be slightly fewer eggs than the last.
I used roughly 3-4 packages of eggs, with a few leftovers. Note, that I also used smaller-sized eggs. However, you could easily do this with full-sized foam eggs instead to create a different look.
Then, once at the top, I topped it with one egg. However, you could do a small foam animal or some other topper. I just decided to keep it all eggs for this tree.
And here is the finished product. What do you think?
Pretty easy right?! I absolutely love it and you can create one in just a few minutes!!
