Hello Friends! I am a Layne aka the Crafty Life Mom.
My Mission
Have you ever wished you could be creative and DIY or decorate your home?
Crafty Life Mom is a place to help you learn how to craft and celebrate a life you love by bringing you easy crafts + simple DIY tutorials, organizational tips, to help you live and celebrate all of life’s events.
I’ve found that some women struggle with being crafty figuring out what to make or how to even use their craft machines. My mission is to help others over the craft hurdles they face. CraftyLifeMom.com is a hub of all the creative project ideas I’ve made and that you can easily recreate with designs included for just about any season. You’ll also find organizational solutions for your home and fun craft activities, printables and SVGs files to help you craft and create all year long.
About Me
Jesus lives in my heart, and I give all the glory to God for the blessings in my life. I am a wife to one awesome guy and momma to three. Life can be a little crazy but I love most to be crafty coming up with new ways to make anything and everything absolutely cute, one of a kind, or just flat-out pretty. I do this with just about everything I get involved in or become a part of. I love to decorate our home with the seasons while creating new looks with every holiday. And I love sharing with others to do the same.
My Journey
I’ve always been crafty since I can remember, in my early adult life this craft and DIYing journey became a little more serious when a doctor suggested that I take up beading or knitting to help my right hand recover from an auto accident injury. Little did I know at the time, that my injury would turn into this whole creative vibe and small business that lives on the internet.
I became a self-taught jewelry artist, maker of all things, and crafter. I’ve worked to develop my techniques while exploring all different realms beyond beading and jewelry making into this creative world.
Shortly after offering personalized jewelry, I started offering other personalized items such as custom apparel, vinyl decals, embroidery machine monograms, shirts and so much more.  I’ve had the pleasure of working with retail companies selling my handmade goods through several different platforms. I’ve sold my handmade goods through craft shows, wholesale, and even through corporations such as Zulliy, Plum District, Groupon, Jane, and Eleventh Avenue to name a few. I’ve also sold on Facebook, Direct to Consumer, and on my own website via several e-commerce platforms.
So I know a thing or two about having a small craft business and sometimes I share those tips too. I even wrote the book on how to Make Money Crafting. You truly can have a handmade business as little or as big as you want.
I Always Say Handmade is Best!
Handmade, handcrafted, or homemade is the absolute best!  Everything is better with sparkle, a glue gun warming up behind the scenes, or with a monogram on it. Check out my You-Tube Channel for Fun DIYs and Video Tutorials.
My small corner on the internet has evolved and changed over the years to include a place to share all ‘the crafty things’ including seasonal trends and simple classic designs. I love creating a sense of style and design to be as unique as you.
I am constantly thinking of new items to make and create; there is always some idea or project brewing! I love being the crafty girl to help bring mine or even someone else’s idea to life.
My Crafty Life
Before Crafty Life Mom was born I wanted more flexibility and the ability to be home with my little ones, not missing a single moment of their lives as they grew. Staying home for a couple of years with them allowed me time to be creative and explore living a crafty life. One of my passions has become teaching others how they too can create a life they love. Whatever that may look like for you or me is different. And I’ve learned, sometimes this changes.
Life is not a one size fits all life, and I am definitely that mom who wears many hats.
Over the past year, I’ve discovered a love for teaching from being very-much involved with my kids’ school. So in 2021, I decided to become a certified teacher. It’s a whole thing within itself, and discussion for another day. However, for this season of life, you might even notice snippets of my teaching life or my crafty classroom trickled in sharing some of the craft-tivities I do with kids.
In this current season of my life, I feel blessed that I am able to make additional income for our family while spending a great deal of time with my kids during the day. Watching them grow this past year has been priceless. Where it will go, or how long teaching will last for me, I am not exactly sure. But for now, this is where God has placed me.
Crafting and Sharing my DIYs and crafts will always be my passion.
When I’m not making something, you can find me with my husband, kids, and pets celebrating life’s beautiful moments. My life goal is not only to just be crafty but also to be the best mother and wife to my family. We only have this one life and I want to live mine intentionally, being the best version I can be in all the things I live and do.
