Hello Friends! I am a Layne aka the Crafty Life Mom. I create all sorts of things. I love making personalized items for others along with DIY projects and Seasonal Home Decor DIYs for my home.
My Mission
Have you ever wished you could be creative and DIY or decorate your home?
Crafty Life Mom is a place to help you learn how to craft and celebrate a life you love by bringing you easy craft + simple DIY tutorials, organizational tips, and craft business smarts.
I’ve found that some women struggle with being crafty figuring out what to make or how to even use their craft machines. My mission is to help others over the craft hurdles they face. CraftyLifeMom.com is a hub of creative project ideas you can easily recreate with designs included in any season. You will also find how-tos and solutions to help you profit from the crafts you create.
About Me
I just love my Cricut and Silhouette craft cutting machines. I also offer personalized embroidery services along with a handful of other crafts and DIYs. Jesus lives in my heart, and I am a wife to one awesome guy and momma to three little ones including twins. Life can be a little crazy but I love most to be creative and crafty coming up with new ways to make anything and everything absolutely cute, one of a kind or just flat-out pretty. I love to decorate our home in a farmhouse-glam type of style with seasonal decor tossed in for just about every season or holiday! And I love sharing with others to do the same.
My Journey
This journey began when my doctor suggested that I take on a beading or knitting hobby to help my right hand and broken thumb recover from an auto accident injury in late 2006. Little did I know at the time, that my injury would turn into a creative business and blessing.
So, I decided to try beading, which became my new love. I became a self-taught jewelry artist, maker of all things, and crafter. I’ve worked to develop my techniques while exploring all different realms of jewelry making and the creative world. In 2010, I began to experiment with metal. I purchased my first set of hammers and stamps, and right then, I knew that I had found a passion for making personalized pieces and unique one-one-of-a-kind designs for others.
Shortly after offering personalized jewelry, it was only a matter of time before I started offering other personalized items such as custom apparel, vinyl decals, shirts and so much more. My love for monograms and embroidery has grown, therefore, you will find a collection of all the personalized things I create in the shop.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with retail companies selling my handmade goods through several different platforms. I’ve sold my handmade goods through craft shows, wholesale and through corporations such as Zulliy, Plum District, Groupon, Jane, and Eleventh Avenue to name a few. I’ve also sold on Facebook, Direct to Consumer, and on several e-commerce platforms.
Handmade is Best!
Handmade, handcrafted or homemade is the absolute best! Everything is better with sparkle, a glue gun warming up behind the scenes, or with a monogram on it. My favorite things to create are monogrammed or embroidered items and seasonal decor for my home.

My space on the internet has evolved and changed over the years to include a place to share ‘all the crafty things’ including seasonal trends and simple classic designs for you, your home, and your family. I love creating a sense of style and design to be as unique as you.
I am constantly thinking of new items to make and create; even in my sleep, you can bet there’s some idea or project brewing! It doesn’t turn off. My friends and family even ask me to help them think of ideas for themes, parties, gifts, or decoration, or just about anything they need help with creatively.
Moving Forward
Before Crafty Life Mom was born I wanted and craved more flexibility and the ability to be home with my little ones, not missing a single moment of their lives as they grow. My corporate life just didn’t allow that for me anymore, so I created this life instead.
Since then, one of my passions has become teaching others how they too can create a life they love. Whether it is starting a side hustle or your very own blog, your own craft business, or just finding time to create your passions I’m here to help and show you how.
When I’m not making something, you can find me with my family celebrating life’s beautiful moments – whatever they may be. My life goal is to not only just be crafty but also to be the best mother and wife to my family. We only have this one life and I want to live mine intentionally, being the best version I can be in all the things I live and do.
