Back To School Sign Printables
My family is in the 2nd half of summer which means that in about 6 weeks or so, all my babies will be headed off to school.
It is bittersweet because it will be quieter around the house. Last year, I had my sweet baby girl with me during the day. However, this coming Fall she will be headed to school with her brothers.
I don’t want them to grow up and I wish time would stand still. I find myself already thinking of the long back to school checklists for clothing, backpacks, lunches, school supplies, activities and you know the drill.
It can be a lot.
Let me say that again….. IT CAN BE A LOT!!
Especially with three kids!

And by the time you do all of the school things and pick out all the items down to the first day of school outfit, you might be forgetting to plan your back to school photos.
For me, in years past, it has been an afterthought, but I’ve always managed to snap a photo, and actually make a cute little sign for the first day.
It also seems that the week of school starting in our area, I start getting requests for back to school signs so that kids can hold the signs in pictures on the first day of school.
And every year, I’ve turned away so many people for custom signs due to time. I have made them for some and family and friends, but honestly, those were last minute signs and created with using up materials I had on hand.
I felt really bad having to tell people I couldn’t just whip one up for them.

This year, I am prepared for those who may wait too late to get an order in for a custom wood sign. I now have a second option to offer, which is still a very cute option that is completely free!
It’s a Printable!
I designed some pretty cool looking chalkboard background printables that you can easily download and print within minutes in your own home.
And I even made them by grade level up to 12th grade!
And if you want to get a bundle that includes first day, last day, and grade level type on a chalkboard style you can get the complete bundle in the shop.
Using the chalkboard Back to School Sign Printable
The best way to use this printable is to put it in a glass picture frame. Then write on the glass with a white paint marker pen or dry erase type pen.
I totally recommend this one. It looks great against the chalkboard background and works on glass, and totally wipes clean with a swipe! Easy Peasy!
These pens even come in color options which are pretty amazing!!!
Look how awesome it looks in the glass picture frame.
And there you have it – a fun quick and easy way to have some back to school photo signs ready in minutes.
