Best Craft Business Books
One thing I often get asked about is how I run my craft business. And while I’d like to say there is a quick an easy answer to give to all future craft business owners.
The truth is there really isn’t. There is no simple technique, skill, or even a magical wand when it comes to doing all the things related to running a craft business.
In fact, you are crazy if you think you can do them all. The reality is one person cannot simply do everything there is to do, every day, all day.
But, all hope is not lost. Because there are some great and valuable tips that can speed things up, move projects along, or even help you get your foot in the door when it comes to growing your craft business.

That’s right! Do one thing at a time, and do it well.
Learn about it, research it, and dive in.
The best way to research and learn about something to learn from those who have done it well before you. This is no secret, obviously.
One of my absolute best ways to do this is by books!
I love having a printed copy (if an ebook) or something tangible to refer to and mark up. After all, this is your craft business and just like any job that requires aides or guide, so will these books.
Books I recommend
Today I am sharing the top books that I read when I started out on my craft business adventure.
These books individually do not cover everything individually in one book. Collectively, they cover more than enough to get you started and succeed.
Craft Inc. – this books is a great starting book to read when it comes to turning you crafting hobbies into an acual business. It is full of information and things to consider when starting out.
Crafting for Dollars – I love this book because its realistic. You won’t make a million dollars right off the bat. But, you can seriously make some good money crafting. This book explains this, and helps you look at how to make that money differently.
Mogul Mom – One of my favorite books when starting out! In fact, this books was published before its time. Now there are more and more people working from home doing something they love. And this book is all about quitting your day job and joining the work at home revolution.
I can’t recommend this book enough. I read this one in almost one night it was that good and such a quick read. This author also has a series for selling on Etsy or even writing.

Marketing & Selling Your Handmade Jewelry – this book is more specific to a jewelry making business. However, there is great information here to consider when starting a craft business.
and lastly….
The Craft Business Answer Book –I sort of lucked out with this book because I got at a book storing closing sale for $1. But it has a 4-star review and has some great information in it as well. You really need to check it out because it goes in dept more than some of the others. It is organized in such a way that you can just look something up with other really reading it start to finish.
There are several other books out there that are great, but this is the top 5 list to get you started!! Do you have any other books you love or recommend? Leave a comment let me know. I will be happy to add it to the list!
