DIY Hoop Ornament Decor
I wanted to create a unique look in my family room this year to decorate the built-in shelves on either side of the TV. I wanted something that wouldn’t cover the shelving but also added a little bit of holiday day color.
For this look, I was inspired by the bright color Christmas decor and some mantel designs I had seen on Instagram.
I recently shared my process for making this Christmas Hoop Ornament Decor on my Facebook page where I go live showing new craft ideas. If you don’t follow me there, I’d love to have you over there in our community. I am also sharing new craft ideas.
Below is the video I created showing my process
How to Make Christmas Hoop Ornament Decor
Once you have all the materials you will need to set up an area to create. The dining room table or your craft table is a great place. I made this in front of my Dreambox cabinet as it has all my supplies within the craft storage cabinet at an arms reach.

Making Hoop Ornament Decor
I started by painting my hoops with gold and silver spray paint. I used what I had leftover from other projects and this is why they ended up in a mixed color tone. I was fine with this and was happy it had a more shimmer of a finish versus the cardboard or wood finish.
I then added a mix of bottle brush trees to the decor using hot glue. I also added greenery to some smaller hoops.
Next, I added bright-colored ribbon bows and a piece of ribbon to hang the hoops from the shelf.
And I loved the way it turned out!
What do you think? Would you make these? Here’s a look of them tied into all of my family room decor.
