DIY Wooden Nativity Scene
One of my favorite things about Christmas is putting out a nativity scene or two. That’s right I now have more than one set now on display.
Jesus really is the reason for the season, so having more than one in my house is just like having another reminder of why we do all that we do when it comes to Christmas and what should matter most when it gets hectic around the holidays.
My first nativity scene was given to me some time ago, and it was a traditional one that sits on a shelf.
However, I knew I wanted one that was a little larger or longer to display on my coffee table in my front room this year. And I wanted to have it match my decor, yet still, be traditional enough to display year to year.

Hobby Lobby Nativity DIY Craft Kit
One day at my many trips to Hobby Lobby I came across this DIY Wooden Nativity Scene craft kit and I knew it would be perfect. It was normally $19.99 but Hobby Lobby had just marked all Christmas items at 50% off so it was a deal to get for $10.
The kit comes in natural wood unpainted.
Of course, I was planning to paint mine and add some flair.
Once you have all the materials you will need to set up an area to create. The dining room table or your craft table is a great place. I made this in front of my Dreambox cabinet as it has all my supplies within the craft storage cabinet at an arms reach.
You CAN GET $100 OFF your own DREAMBOX using code: CRAFTYLIFE at Checkout!
You can also check out my Dreambox Setup in this video to see how I have it set up! I absolutely love the Dreambox setup. It really makes crafting so much more fun!

Making the Nativity Scene
I recently shared my process for making the Hobby Lobby Nativity Scene Kit on my Facebook page where I go live showing new craft ideas. If you don’t follow me there, I’d love to have you over there in our community. I am also sharing new craft ideas.
Below is the video I created showing my process
What did you think?
Pretty easy and simple. I love the stain look and the subtle glitter addition to Mary & Joseph and baby Jesus.
Here’s a look at it displayed on my coffee table.
I have received so many compliments on the nativity scene and think these also make great gifts to give to family or friends.
Here’s an angle of the nativity scene with a peek of my front room tree in the background. I used a lot of greens in this room and just love how it turned out altogether in this room.
