Have you noticed that lemon decor has been a slight mini-craze this Summer? I sure have and its been kind of fun looking at all the lemon dishware, glassware and linens that you see in stores. My favorite go-to for craft fun, of course, is the Dollar Tree.
And the Dollar Tree, believe it or not, keeps up with the ongoing trends. I really think this pretty cool.
Easy Peasy Lemon Sign
I have had this Lemon Squeezy sign decor idea for a while now. In fact, the phrase “Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy” is often mentioned in my home all year round. With little kiddos running around who sometimes whine (no, really!) its often mentioned that the task or thing they want is easy to do or get.
Soooo, of course, in my attempts to parent and raise up model citizens, I often encourage them to try again, stop whining or expecting someone else to do or get it for them.
While this may not come as a shock to you, once they do, they realize the task at hand was not hard at all. In that case, our famous little phrase is spoken.
Having this sign displayed in our home has been so much fun. And it has been spoken so much more!! Who would’ve thought such a little DIY could inspire so much from little ones.
I have the DIY Lemon Sign displayed proudly on my two-tiered tray with a lemon dish towel and other decor items as a centerpiece on our main eating table. The sign gets seen often and therefore is a great reminder to try it yourself or harder!

Supplies Needed:
In order to make the sign, you will need to gather up these supplies.
- Cricut Maker Or the Silhouette Cameo to cut the “Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy” decal. (optional – you can always hand paint the sign)
- My SVG/PDF Cut File – get the free file here
- Adhesive Vinyl in White
- Craft Paint in Yellow, Green, and Light Green (to paint the lemons with all from my favorite craft store)Â You can easily cut vinyl for this part but I preferred the painted look.
- 6X8 paint canvas sign from the Dollar Tree)
- Dot brand mini chalkboard from the Dollar Tree)
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks and scissors from the dollar store or craft shop. Most people have this in their craft stash
Making the Lemon Sign
I let the paint completely dry a few hours. This also gave the stain time to fully dry as well. Here’s a video of the entire process of making the Lemon Sign.
Finishing the Lemon Sign
Once everything had completely dried, I came back with my glue gun and put a small bead of glue on the back of and around the entire edge of the wooden frame.
I pressed the frame down onto the chalkboard. The sign was complete! I styled it with my Summer decor flowers I made also with supplies from the Dollar Tree and I placed the sign in my two-tiered tray along with other Lemon and Summer decor items.
I really love the way this little sign came out! In fact, I feel like this method of sign making is super fun and quick for just about any little decor sign you might want to create.
