Being a Crafty Mom is a lot of fun. One of the #1 things I people tell me is that they wish they could be crafty, or even crafty with their kids. They then say, “I’m just not crafty”. My reply is always that anyone can be crafty. In fact, being crafty doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be creative and come up with brand new ideas.
Being crafty is almost always taking one or two ideas of another and making it your own, putting a twist on it. And, when it comes to making crafts with your kids, there are thousands of ideas upon thousands of ideas out there that you can absolutely recreate with your kids.
Most kid’s crafts require no special skills or even materials or tools. A lot of kids crafts can be done using household items or things you are most likely to have on hand or can purchase from the dollar store.
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite kids’ crafts for you to remake and create with kids. The most important thing is that you have fun with your children.
ÂWhy Crafting With Kids Is Important
I’m no expert but after doing a little ole internet research on the benefits of crafting with kids I found one thing in common in a handful of articles about the benefits of crafting with kids. I found that not only does it create long-lasting memories, but it also develops fine motor skills in younger kids. It also creates a “can do” attitude in children which is foundational on a later thriving adolescent or adult. Crafting promotes problem-solving and allows for relaxation at the same time.
I don’t know about you but these few things alone are just amazing!
