Decorating for Valentine’s Day 2021. Decorate and Craft with me as I show you Valentine’s Day decor and Craft Ideas for the Valentine’s Day holiday this year.
Valentine’s Day Decorating
Valentine’s Day Decorating can be so much fun. Especially when the celebrating the day with your loved ones or special someone. One thing I love doing is decorating for the holiday in a few areas around my home. I do not go all out for Valentine’s Day like I do Christmas, but I do dress up and add a few decor items around the key zones throughout my house.
 ÂValentine’s Day Decor
I mentioned above that I decorate key zones in my home. Key zones, are likely 2-3 areas or places in your home that are both functional and have some potential to have some sort of variety of decor or updating done often.
Examples of these key zones are your drop zones (function) or your area where you make your daily coffee (coffee bar, hutch, or coffee station). You can also have a key zone like the foyer table or even a small tiered tray be a key zone. Identifying key zones in your home to update and change out seasonally are great places to start when it comes to adding seasonal decor to your home.
I prefer to identify places I use and or view daily.
I don’t get a lot of visitors, but I do often see or walk by my foyer table daily. So having it updated or changed out with seasonal holiday decor makes me happy, plus it looks great for when the occasional gues does happen to come by.
Hint: This area is also usually the cleanest and the first place they are likely to view in my home so having it tidy and decorated gives bonus points to looking like I have a well-kept (ah-hmm, sometimes) home. With three kiddos, you really never know what you might see around here daily.
Valentine’s Day Decorate With Me
I just shared a video showing these zones in my home and how I actually unload one bin of decor and holiday pillows around my home. I also share a few new crafts in the video below.
My Favorite Valentine’s Day Decor
I’ve said this before, and I will say it again. My favorite all-time spot to decorate in my home is my coffee station. I start my day here. So its important to me to be functional and a happy spot decorated seasonally to help set my mood and start my mornings.
I recently update the buffet to this beautiful hutch adding one additional shelf and storage to this area.
The backing to this hutch was originally wood slats stained in the same dark brown color as the counter and top of the hutch. It was beautiful but made this space seem a little darker than I wanted.
I purchased peel and stick wallpaper in a white shiplap and covered it to brighten the space. I know some might cringe at that but I wanted something easy and quick. I can always remove it if I decide I don’t like, and or even paint the slats.
The white shiplap paper gives it added extra brightness to the overall look and vibe of the new coffee hutch.
What do you think? I absolutely love the way it turned out. It’s my favorite spot in the entire house.
