DIY Moss Easter Bunny
Create this farmhouse inspired DIY Moss Easter Bunny using items mostly from the Dollar Tree. This DIY adds a unique style to your home decor.
I love Spring time and I love decorating my home for Spring. There’s something about the bright and cheerful colors sprinkled all throughout out my home that make my heart happy!
A few weeks ago I shared on my Facebook page a super cute Farmhouse inspired Moss Easter Bunny home decor sign.
Moss Easter Bunny
I have seen moss decor in stores and even for Spring and Easter. I thought it would be fun to try my hand at creating my own before heading off to the store to buy some.
You can watch the DIY Video Below:
Once you have all the materials you will need to set up an area to create. The dining room table or your craft table is a great place. I made this in front of my Dreambox cabinet as it has all my supplies within the craft storage cabinet at an arms reach.
You CAN GET $100 OFF your own DREAMBOX using code: CRAFTYLIFE at Checkout!
You can also check out my Dreambox Setup in this video to see how I have it set up! I absolutely love the Dreambox setup. It really makes crafting so much more fun!
Making the Frame Sign
To create this sign I used a black piece of foam board as the background. I bought the foam board form the Dollar Tree and then cut it down to size to fit the wood frame of a 16X20 canvas. This wood frame is from a standard painting canvas you can find at just about any craft store or even walmart.
Just remove the canvas and paint or stain the wood that is left over. I didn’t bother to remove the staples.
Using hot glue, I just adhered the foam board to the back of the frame once it was dry. You can even my favorite chalk paint to paint and stain the wood frame. I linked one similar here.
Materials Needed for this project:
- Wood Frame and foam board noted above
- Plastic from tinsel bunnies found at Dollar Tree
- Floral Moss
- ribbon
- Hot glue gun and glue – this one is my absolute favorite.
Making the DIY Moss Bunny Decor
To make the moss bunnies, make sure the fit inside your frame foam board. You will want to create the foam board and frame part first as noted above. Then remove the tinsel wrapping form the Dollar Tree bunnies completely so that you are left with nothing but the plastic frames.
The plastic frames will act as a guide and also create a 3D shape for the moss. Carefully glue the moss on the plastic frames and trim where necessary so that you do not lose the shape and outline of the bunny shapes.
Once the moss is at a desired look you can embellish with ribbons or simple bows.
I also added painted galvanized metal words in the words “Happy Easter” to the bottom of this sign to finish off the look.
I really love the way this DIY Moss Bunny decor turned out. What do you think? I also created an entire list of my Favorite Spring & Easter DIYs and Home Decor shopping list items. You can check them out here!
