Create this Wood Camper DIY from Michaels to bring some cute decor to your home. Just a little paint and scrapbook paper can turn a plain wood camper into something super cute.
I wanted something cute to display on my TV mantle that represented our family’s trip to Disney Fort Wilderness Campground. We had the best time.
While at Michaels Craft Store, I found this adorable Wood Camper that could be made into a cute decor piece. It was on clearance and of course, I knew it would be the perfect thing to craft and to also remind myself of the fun trip we just had.
So, I grabbed my supplies and gave this wooden camper a makeover.
I made a Live video of myself making this camper cute. You can check it out here.
Materials:
To make one of these over yourself you will need the following supplies:
- Camper ( Or any cute Birdhouse design)
- Scrapbook paper
- paint
- mod podge
- scissors
I used the scrapbook paper to cover the top of the camper. I found this adorable purple tone floral paper from Hobby Lobby and fell in love with it for this Wood Camper DIY.
I knew it would perfect to add to the top to give it a funky spin. Using the mod podge I applied it to the back of the paper and applied it to the wood to adhere the paper to it.
Then I painted the sides of the camper. On the backside, I decided to add white polka dots just to give this camper a little bit of whimsy.
I really enjoyed creating this wooden camper to sit on our shelf. And I’ve recently been excited to work with wood and create different wooden projects.
So what do you think of this camper? Would makeover a wood piece like this for your home?
