Create your own Wooden Christmas Tree decor using wooden blanks or small wood cutting boards. In this post, I show you two ways to create Wooden Christmas Tree decor to fit the style and decor of your home this Christmas season.
Wooden Christmas Tree Makeover
I love having home decor each holiday that is custom and unique to my style and home decor. I love mixing my own DIYs with store-bought decor. For this wooden Christmas tree, I took a hobby lobby wooden tree and turned it into something beautiful.
How To A Standing Wooden Christmas Tree
Wooden Christmas Trees that stand up on a table or shelf is super popular right now, and having a variety or mix of them, in my opinion, is even better for creating a custom look or vignette.
I recently shared my process for making this DIY Wooden Christmas Tree on my Facebook page where I go live showing new craft ideas. If you don’t follow me there, I’d love to have you over there in our community. I am also sharing new craft ideas.
Below is the video I created showing my process.
Once you have all the materials you will need to set up an area to create. The dining room table or your craft table is a great place. I made this in front of my Dreambox cabinet as it has all my supplies within the craft storage cabinet at an arms reach.

Materials Needed:
- Wooden Tree blank (I got this one from Hobby Lobby)
- scrapbook paper in your choice patterns
- mod podge glue adhesive
- twine
- bells
- embellishments or ribbons and pom poms
- fairy lights – this could be added as an option
- topper
Making The Wooden Christmas Tree
To make this tree I simply ripped different strips of my coordinated scrapbook paper and mod podge them into place. You could easily cut the papers to fit but I found that the ripped edges gave more of the look I was going for with this project.
Then I wrapped and added twine with tiny jingle bells around my tree.
Lastly, I painted and stained the base. You can leave it bare or even paint it.
Here’s a look at the finished tree.
Wood Cutting Board Christmas Tree
For the second Wooden Christmas Tree, I took a Dollar Tree Cutting board, and some floral garland to make my own tree design. I also used the bells to add a little bit of jingle to the tree.
This craft is simple and easy to recreate using mostly items from the dollar store.
Below is the video of me creating this easy DIY.
Here’s a finished look at the tree.
